TheLinuxFund.org Privacy Policy

Because your privacy is important to us, TheLinuxFund.org adheres to the following policy:
  1. LinuxFund.org explicitly asks when we need personal information. LinuxFund.org requires your full name and e-mail address. You are only required to give address, zip code, city, state, country and phone number if you are applying for a grant. You may update your information at any time from within your LinuxFund.org account by clicking the "Edit profile" link, once you have logged in.
  2. Due to the type of site we operate, it is necessary for us to associate submitted projects and comments with human identities. For this reason, registered members of LinuxFund.org will be able to view all other members' full names and e-mail address. Resumes, which are optional, can bolster an applicant's credentials and are also available to registered users. Your personal information, however, is used solely for the purpose of contacting you. LinuxFund.org keeps all of your personal information private (with the exception of your full name and e-mail address) and does not share it with any third parties unless doing so is necessary to: conform to legal requirements, comply with legal process, or act to protect the interests of its members or others.
  3. LinuxFund.org will not send you any unsolicited information, with three exceptions:
    • New users will receive an e-mail from LinuxFund.org, including their new LinuxFund.org password;
    • Applicants will receive notification regarding the status of submitted projects; and
    • Under unique circumstances, LinuxFund.org may be required to send you information about the service or your account.
  4. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
  5. We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement, and identify spamming use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
  6. This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we at LinuxFund.org are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. 7. If we ever change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our home page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
  8. If at any time you believe that LinuxFund.org has not adhered to this policy or if you have a question about the policy, please e-mail us.
